Here is the setting I use - 48kHz and 256 samples - in both tests. I loaded the stress test and there were no noticeable differences in CPU or dropouts. Here are the same tests using the 3.1 MixControl and drivers. Line Outputs 7 and 8 Headphone 1 Line Outputs 9 and 10 Headphone 2 If you encounter some issues like no headphone output or volume something is not set right on the headphone monitor output settings.

I then installed 3.1 and restarted, then repeated the setup. There are two headphone outputs available to Saffire Pro 40. I also made a stress test project that pushes things to a limit with a lot of soft synths (Reaktor, Alchemy, Kore) and reverbs running (2C Aether at 4x oversampling on lots of track).

Before making changes I set up a typical project that uses Reaktor running a high CPU load and automatically generating sound - and then I looped that back in to a second track and recorded that track input.

Here is a pic of the mixcontrol software for the saffire, the red on the right hand numbers is the monitor output selection, red means muted.I decided to upgrade from Mixcontrol 2.2 to 3.1 and I think the results are good so far. I have no idea what the timing ref out and in is for, do I need to set this, I see I have a choice of all the ins and outs i have currently not used. I still have my cable from the line out 2 to my line in 2 Output - 2 ro24DSP-001570 Mon 2 (the channel I usually use as line out to my right monitor) Sample Rate - 48kHz (I also reduced my bit depth to 16 jst to keep it simple) Ok, the 5.01beta is on and here are my initial settings.

I currently have the saffire drivers installed and I take it REW version 5.0 doesnt support ASIO drivers? I will be able to post any info or screenshots you need as Im reasonably computer savey, so if I dont understand it wont be hard for you to direct me to the place where such info resides. I am downloading the version of REW you linked and will install that, should only take a few mins. The Scarlett MixControl software allows flexible mixing and routing of all audio signals to the physical audio outputs as well as control of output monitor.

I know REW is fine with 48kHz but is the 24bit a problem? Ok, my card was set to 2 channel 24bit 48kHz. I know this is a rather meager amount of info but I am really not sure where to start:crying: I can fiddle with the pots on my Saffire but I get either a weak signal or what seems to be feedback even tho I am not monitoring the input :huh: When running soundcard calibration in REW, I get the test tone sitting at -12dB and my right channel amplitude is sitting at around -86dB I take my 1/4 inch and pop it from Line output 2 to Line Input 2 I can use the internal Saffire MixControl software mixer to control individual ins, outs and mix etc and also I can do some routing. These are hardware pots on the front of card. I can turn up the line in gain (it is also an XLR) and I have my main monitor gain. I have several ways to control the amplitude. :dumbcrazy:Īll cables are unplugged exept for the firewire to my PC. This allows you to monitor the output of Saffire PRO while still routing all 8 analogue inputs directly to the analogue outputs. However, any digital output can still be used as a monitor mix (will normal throughput latency).

I am using the Focusrite Saffire Pro24 DSP and am having trouble even getting a simple calibration. When hardware monitoring is enabled, the analogue outputs are unavailable for monitor mixing. I am a sound production student so I have some knowledge, but as this shows, not nearly enuf! This is my first post and Im in dire need of help (aren't we all) :help:
